Novartis to Partner Google in Developing Smart Contact Lens

(Web design in Cambodia Digital Marketing Agency, restartbox.com)- European drug maker Novartis and Google have reportedly reached an agreement on the invention of smart contact lenses for diabetics, which will develop a life-changing technology effectively tracking blood glucose levels.

According to Novartis, the device would measure glucose in tear fluid and send the data wirelessly to a mobile device.

“This really brings high-technology and combines it with biology – and that’s a very exciting combination for us,” said Novartis Chief Executive Joe Jimenez.

“I think you’re going to see more and more areas of unmet medical need where companies like Novartis are going to take a non-traditional approach to addressing those needs.”

Novartis will be a dominant force in a global blood-sugar tracking market expected to be worth more than $12 billion by 2017 should the technology prove successful.
