As world population grows at a rapid pace, everything is in high demand, especially food production. However, due to the growth, it is also hard to optimize the space. This concept design focus on both problem as well as bring the farm to the modern city without invading the space used as housing or commercial purpose. It also helps the cities that are full of modern technology to enjoy the green scenery and preserve environment.
In the design, the farm will have a huge central pillar as its stability base with the eight vertical spread branches. Each branch will have 60-70 leaf-like farming decks with LED tech. For the seeds to grow, the project will includes an aquacultural system in lieu of soil.
Concerning the dimensions, Skyfarm will have a floor space of 144,450 sq m, 44,000 sq m for outdoor planting and 9,000 sq m for enclosed planting, 3,200 sq m for generate electricity. The project finishes with additions of viewing decks, public spaces and canteens.
