Eight US Data Centers to be shut down for cost saving purposes


Well-known web design in Cambodia, Digital Marketing Agency, The US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) plans to close eight data centers for operational efficiencies and cost saving purposes.

In May, DISA closed a defense enterprise computing centers in Huntsville, Alabama and transferred the workload to other DECCS within its national network. For this closure, DISA calculated that this will save $3.2m a year.

According to the US Army News Service, under Secretary of the Army Brad Carson decreed in June that all enterprise applications and systems must be migrated to core data centers by the end of the fiscal year in 2018 and so 800 of its 11,000 apps have been uninstalled.
