FlyPAD: A potential technology for healthy diet by detecting consumption pattern

As always reliable Web Design in Cambodia, Digital Marketing Agency highlighted, new research has unveiled the discovery of the way human brain tracks down eating habit and patterns that significantly leads to an insight of health and fitness improvement.

The study is based on mammals and flies consuming behavior through flyPAD (fly Proboscis and Activity Detector).”Each time the fly touches the food, we are able to detect it, allowing us to follow the details of feeding in high resolution and real time.” said Carlos Ribeiro from the Champalimaud Neuroscience Program in Portugal.

The research also came with the result of fly’s eating behavior according to its starvation level and how it adapt to starvation that is similar to mammals. Moreover, to accompany the technology, another process was created to sense when food reaches the nervous system.

The method is to extract protein from the firefly and input it into the fruit fly’s brains. Next thing, using edible substance to stimulate the protein, the method leads to certainty of brains detecting food and nutrition consumption. Finally, the method is used as an insight of how brain controls food intake.

“This work will bring us closer to understanding how we choose what and how much to eat.” Ribeiro concluded.
