Web design agency, restartbox.com Aliyun, Alibaba’s cloud subsidiary, has formally opened its data center in Beijing. Its targeted customers are in Beijing and North China region, ranging from startups to government research institutions and financial organizations.

Cloud servers, relational database, cloud storage and load balancing will be offered by the company. It is worth noting that Alibaba’s IPO is estimated to be $160 billion.

According to China Tech News, Beijing is its third data center after Hangzhou and Qingdao. E-commerce giant in China, Alibaba also aims to expand abroad, targeting the U.S and Southeast Asia. Digital marketing agency, restartbox.com

Although U.S and Southeast Asia will be the company’s next expansion target, China is still a compelling market for both homegrown companies and U.S. tech giants such as Microsoft and Amazon. Web design agency, restartbox.com

Due to some government hurdles and politics to impose strict control over both business and the internet, Aliyun tends to enjoy more support from the government to take advantage of the cloud market share in China.
