China’s Second-and Third-Largest Carriers to Jointly Invest in Content Delivery Unit

(Digital Marketing Agency, restartbox.com)- China Telecom Corp Ltd and China Unicom Hong Kong Ltd, the country’s second- and third-largest carriers respectively, are set to pair up in building content delivery unit with a view to boasting users’ Internet access, Century Business Herald claims.

If the report is to prove right, the proposed company would be run by China Telecom’s cloud computing subsidiary, which was founded back in 2012 and released its first cloud-based content delivery network (CDN) product yesteryear.

In a similar case, Telecom announced this month a partnership with Akamai Technologies Inc. to better content delivery for its customers.
